Importance of ICT in the life of a regular Bangladeshi

Bangladesh is a developing country. In fact seeing the current circumstances we can say that our country is in big vast sea of opportunities in the IT sector. The Government has taken it as a challenge to make Bangladesh a developed country in near future. The vision -2021 “Digital Bangladesh” is the sample copy of that dream. All these development work such as metro rails, flyovers, e-sheba, e-settlement , e-learning all are the steps which will make our life more self dependable. This big words seems like a daydream if as a normal person we think. But these are not any more in our imaginations , this is the truth. One of the big sectors of making Bangladesh Digital by the year 2021 is that making our self more independent by using the technology. One do not have to depend on someone else for making their work done. People from all parts of the society will be able to use the technology and implement it in their daily life that is the main motto of this sector.

Information and Communication Technology the abbreviation of ICT is a very much popular word among us now. All the media, education sector, Telecommunication sides all are focusing on this implementation of IT in daily life to make it more easier. ICT is a new subject which has been added in the curriculum of NCTB. So the students are learning about the model of computer, use of internet , technology is home chores from a very tender age. Mobile phone companies are bringing new data usage services, 4G cellular data connection which is goanna make the speed of internet higher. Better recipient of network , coverage would be more vast. The broadband services is giving us the opportunity of using unlimited internet. Thus one is getting the ample opportunity of exploring the world of internet.

Internet is a world of knowledge. Through this one can get the essence of diversity of this world. Any information is just a click away. This Virtual world of internet has open a big window in front of this generation. No.. I am not talking about the Window of Microsoft..! Here I am referring the window of knowledge that enlightens our children, adult or any one who would like to be enlighted!

Bangladesh Government has opened the e-governance service which covers all the aspects of official task. It brought down the services that are dedicated for the citizens of the country at the door. E settlement is a service which plans to make all the land document embedded into database. As a result all the informations will be present in the database and will be able to access at anytime. Telemedicine is providing medical aid even at the middle of night. Emergency call center will provide you any kind of facilities in the time of emergency just by calling 999. Learning with internet is a new edition in the schools of Bangladesh. Even in the rural area students can learn from the best teachers with the use of virtual class room. Government is providing the aid to turn a regular classroom into a smart class room so that nothing will be hindering the path of education. Different kind of online schools has been introduced containing educational contents such as Ten minute School .Ayman Sadiq is the founder of this online school. This is providing all kinds of possible educational contents in their online sites. Khan Academy is also an educational site which also provides digital contents in Bangla. An educationalist named Salman Khan who is also a Bangladeshi is the founder of this. YouTube tutorial is also a big scope for learning purpose.

Any rural man even it’s a farmer or plumber they can also have a Bkash account and have banking service with Bkash. Bkash is an online money transaction process which lets people send and receive virtual money , buy products and have a business ,pay bills, pay for tickets even not getting into the hassle of bank. I am not saying this is removing the need of banking system , it is making it more user friendly. Mango people can have the taste of being self-dependable.

PATHAO, UBER are the teleportation service that are available in our country now for taxi service, or bike ride service. They are providing standard service to the passengers with standard cost. These service are getting very popular in the urban society. GPS is playing the hero here.

While at the the time of vacations people used to get anxious for the availability of tickets now one can buy their plane, bus or train tickets sitting in front of their desktop or using their mobile phone. Online money transaction system is helping it to be more easy and efficient. Enjoying Eid or new year with loved ones is so easy now.

A regular man of Bangladesh now can start his day with an online newspaper , checking mails, completing office work from home , can attend virtual meetings from overseas, can order food or any daily needs thing through online, medical service from home through a mobile call, emergency ambulance service system, Global Positioning service (GPS) is for going to any desired destination, can send e-cards for greeting fnf and moreover can do money transaction even from home all of these are not in science fiction story now.. this is real for any Bangladeshi; it’s the fairytale that we dreamt of once.

Now Bangladesh has launched their own geostationary satellite in this year of 2018 named “ Bangabandhu Satellite – 1”. This is going to make our web communication system, internet service and other channel service more fast and better ..even if not furious!!

As a citizen of Bangladesh it is our dream also to see Bangladesh in the rank of one of the unique and developed countries of the world. Once it was impossible to think that we will come to this position but its all reality now. We can say now that on the event of golden jubilee of Bangladesh, “Digital Bangladesh” vision 2021 is going to make our country more advanced but that is not possible with the constant upgrading of Information and Communication Technology.
